The goal of this committee is:

To teach SRSAN members about government, inform the different levels of government about SRSAN and the issues that affect individuals with developmental disabilities.

The following objectives or ways they will make this happen are:

1.    Teach SRSAN members about the different levels of government

®   Research available videos to show at meetings

®   Research books on government – create information sheets

®   Invite politicians to speak about their jobs

®   Create information package on voting

®   Teach people how they can communicate to government

 

2.     Collect information on what issues there are for people with disabilities and identify which level of government needs to be made aware of the issue. The issues will be addresses with the appropriate levels of government by this committee.

 

3.    Inform different levels of government about how SRSAN can be used as a resource in obtaining information on disability issues.

 

4.    Establish a good working relationship with all levels of government.
