SAIPA is a support to people with developmental disabilities, their personal networks, agency staff and the community. Our organization provides workshops and presentations on self advocacy, how to support it, how to make people more aware of the contributions of people with developmental disabilities and leadership courses. 

We are currently developing workshops in the following areas:

  • Leadership
  • Board, Committee and Meetings
  • Self-advocacy, what is it and how to support it
  • Rights, responsibilities and understanding your role
  • Discrimination and reporting

Once the workshops have been completed and are ready for presentation, they will be posted on this site.

In keeping with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, SAIPA believes in the empowerment of individuals with disabilities and their families.

Individual Rights DVD has embraced many people's voices ~ individuals, staff, and guardians. The power of people's voices was used in creating this resource in which to raise awareness about the rights of individuals as full citizens in their community and to empower individuals to exercise their rights, control and choice. It is a tool that will assist individuals, families/guardians, agency staff and the community to embrace individual's rights and apply them into an individual's every day life.
