The Executive Committee are the elected members that carry out the mission, vision and goals of SRSAN. They are elected by the voting members of SRSAN. The Executive Committee volunteers their time and do not get paid for the job that they do. The expenses of the SRSAN Board are paid for and they do not have to pay for things like a hotel room, renting a van to get to a meeting, or supper when doing SRSAN business. Any person can be on the Executive that has taken the leadership course through Leadership Today Society of Alberta and has paid his/her SRSAN membership. The Executive Committee are elected for two (2) years and this is considered one (1) term. The first year is a learning year and the person is considered to be "In Training". The second year is when the person will do the position responsibilities. The Executive positions are:
The longest that someone can be on the Executive Committee is two (2) terms which equals out to be four (4) years. After that, the person must take a two (2) year break before they can run for elections again. If people are interested in being on the SRSAN Executive Committee, they can self nominate themselves prior to the November meeting or they can self nominate during the meeting when "nominations from the floor" are called. The Executive Committee meets the night before a SRSAN meeting to develop the agenda and to discuss any issues that must be brought forward to the SRSAN membership. |
